Hi Cello Friend!

I am really excited to announce that the:

Official GCP Project #17 File Uploader is LIVE!

its on the PROJECT PAGE, but keep reading for details.

RECORDING SETTINGS

Please set your recording device to 30fps, 720p - if this is easy for you - if not - don’t worry!

If you have a green screen, try and get yourself fully within the green area, with you and your cello filling the full frame of the video, preferably in landscape mode. If you can’t do this, then please film in portrait mode. If you are not using a green screen, please film in portrait mode.

Coverage - for everyone - landscape or portrait mode - from just above your head to just below your bridge.

And make sure you de-select and switch off mirror mode - no left handed cellists please!

DOWNLOAD BACKING TRACKS…don’t stream them!

I really suggest that you download the official backing track before you record with it - sometimes if you are using the link on the internet it can lag or glitch which could make your video unusable!

-

FILE NAMING

It would be very helpful if you could try and rename your file, using the convention we’ve been using for most of the projects. If you forget, or don’t know how to do it - don’t worry - it’s fine!

Please use just the number of your part followed by you FIRST name and LAST name

For example:

1 Yo-Yo Ma

2 Steven Isserlis

8 Ludwig Van Beethoven

That’s it - nothing more!!!

UPLOADING

You can find the UPLOAD link on the PROJECT PAGE

We are using 2 different upload systems…for files smaller than 1GB LINK (hopefully more reliable), and for larger files over 1GB LINK.

On the form, please input your Street Name only.  We definitely don’t need your address, and would prefer you to keep your data private…this is just for the map at the beginning of the video, to have more accurate pins on people’s location.

Your experiences using the uploader seem to vary so much - I really urge you to keep trying - Patience and persistence really do pay off! These can be big files and can take a while to upload - keep trying - and do keep in touch with us - I have said it before - I will move mountains to get your video into the project!! Email to admin@globalcelloproject.com

-

DRESS CODE

All black - concert blacks if you can - nice shirt, skirt, pants, but if you can’t, black jeans and t-shirt is fine!

Please add a splash of color with your accessories - scarf, handkerchief, bandana, bow tie, hat, even Mardi Gras beads……?

Choose your color according to your part:

EXTENSION??  YOU GOT IT!

Those of you who have recorded already - relax and have a donut or three, thanks for being on the early side as it will give me a chance to work out some bugs in advance of the tsunami of files–And for the rest of ya—feel free to upload anytime.

GETTING THE WORD OUT

You may notice in the next few days a post or two from me appearing in the various cello-related facebook groups. If you see the posts, it would be helpful for the algorithms to like and comment so that we can create a buzzzz for the project and see if we can’t drum up a few more participants. If you belong to any groups that I am not in, do feel free to share it too - the more the merrier! And of course you are welcome to share it in your own news feed, story, twitter feed, insta…

Here is a graphic to share:

Hope y’all are well and not too cold! Brrrr!!l  And I hope to see you soon!!

Cello love from,

Tony
